Sampled this winter warmer special in Esquires, Glasgow (JDW) in November 2007. Copper red in colour with a thin white head and good lacing. Powerful malty aroma with a hint of nutmeg and cloves. Smooth juicy mouthfeel. Pale malt complexes give a robust almost spicy digestive malt base. Overipe figs and plump juicy raisins impart an initial sweet syrupy fruit note. Warming complex aftertaste of dry woody oak and creamy vanilla. A well crafted winter warmer.

A low aroma ale with all but a thin malty taste being its only saving grace. Far to astringent. Basically this is poor but not undrinkable.

Brassy coloured special ale for the World Cup. Rich and bitter initially with a tart, tangy background. Not bad for a GK ale.

Sampled this Autumnal themed ale in Tennents Bar, Glasgow in October 2008. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Dry dusty hops in the aroma and thin mouthfeel. Thin pale malt in the lacklustre body, noted a slight hint of redcurrant fruit. Strong metallic aftertaste of hop resins dominate the cloying finish. Poor effort from Greene King.

A version of a former old favourite. Light brown and smooth with a tangy, malty taste. Sweet overtones and a tarty finish.
