Dark brown in colour and not exactly overflowing with character, but thankfully it's strength brought the flavours to the surface.

Sampled this pleasant mild in the Bull Inn, Paisley in August 1996. Mahogany black in colour with open brown coloured head. Strong aroma of black malt and coffee. Black, roast and chocolate malts appear in this mild, very flavoursome with coffee notes and plain chocolate in the taste. Slight liquorice notes evident in the finish.

A mid amber coloured ale with a dry well hopped bitter taste.Unfortunately the firkin I had exploded rather leaving some hops up the garden tree. However once it had settled down it was quite drinkable and better than most of the Ridleys ales I have had.

Pale bitter with a hint of a malty aroma. Refreshing dry bitter finish. Quite enjoyed the pint and will have another before it leaves the local.

Nice colour.... and that really is it. This was a job to finish drinking. Save yourself a quid and get a coke instead.
